Please help us better communicate with every member of your association. We want to make sure to connect with every member of our YWCA team. Our goal is to have 100% open rate for this weekly update. We're also looking for feedback. Let us know what's helpful. We appreciate your input.

Week Without Violence 2019

  • YWCA Princeton
  • YWCA Tri-County Area
  • YWCA Quincy

As a reward, we’re sending each of them this cool WWV t-shirt. Thanks and congratulations! More winners coming soon.

YWCA SpotlightYWCA Boulder County
Debbie_Pope-President-CEO-YWCA-Boulder-County.jpgDebbie Pope, President and CEO of YWCA Boulder County, joins YWCA USA CEO Alejandra Y. Castillo to discuss the grant that YWCA received from Google to support girls in STEM E3. YWCA’s STEM E3 (Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship) program works with young women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). YWCA STEM E3 curriculum helps young women and girls of color build the confidence and skills required for future careers in computer science and artificial intelligence. We’re excited to embark on this partnership with Google, encouraging a new generation of young women and girls in STEM.

Please visit our website page to share, download, and listen to Organize Your Butterflies. You are our best marketers. Please help us raise awareness by sharing these details to your network, posting it on social media using #YWCAButterflies, and talking about it with your community.

YWCA USA is Hiring

we-are-hiring.jpgSpread the word! YWCA USA is searching for applicants for the following three positions:

Please help us recruit new members for our team by sharing these opportunities with your network.

Helpful Tool: BoardSource

All of our YWCA associations are eligible for a free membership to BoardSource, experts in the field of board governance.

This benefit offers multiple resources for best practices in governance. A unique sign-up page has been created for YWCA USA's entire network of board and staff. Please direct interested board members and staff to visit boardsource.org/ywca to activate their BoardSource membership.

Once a username and password has been set, you will be able to view a page that describes the benefits, including complimentary assessment, ask-an-expert e-mail service, monthly educational webinars on trending topics, downloadable templates, tools, info graphics and hundreds of 101, 201, and 301-level topic papers.

Supermajority Survey

Supermajority-Survey.pngWe’re excited to partner with Supermajority Education Fund -- a new home for women’s activism, training, and community that’s fighting for gender equity.

This week, Supermajority launched the Women’s Poll.  The goal is to inspire activism, hold candidates and elected officials accountable, and provide a rallying cry for millions of women to engage and mobilize their friends, neighbors, and family to vote in 2020. Please take a few minutes to answer questions about your life and your dreams for the future.

Please share this poll with your network of women. Women in every community in this country, representing every life experience, deserve to finally have their voices heard.

* We know that gender isn’t binary and that many people do not identify as women. For this poll, we are soliciting feedback from all people who identify as women.

Supermajority Education Fund is offering a reward -- an exclusive tote -- to everyone who recruits 10 or more women to complete the poll.

National Voter Registration Day

National-Voter-Registration-Day.jpgThere's no such thing as an "off-year" for democracy. Thousands of local elections for mayors, commissioners, and others will be held across the nation this November. Several states also have statewide races or ballot measures. These local elections have a profound impact on the communities we serve. So how do YOU make sure you’re having the biggest impact and ensuring everyone is #VoteReady?

National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) 2019 is Tuesday, September 24th. Once you register you will receive official NVRD training opportunities, voter registration resources, and organizing kits with posters and stickers. Click to register.

If you need a refresher on Voter Registration, please join Nonprofit Vote for a webinar on how to run a voter registration at your nonprofit on Thursday, August 29th at 2 p.m. ET. Register NOW to learn more about approaches to offering voter registration.

For additional resources, please join our YWCA Voter Engagement Intranet Community

The Leadership Conference will cover one scholarship per region, however YWCA USA will cover travel and hotel expenses for anyone interested who is already engaged or has a clear plan or commitment to engage in 2020 Census work.

Please reach out to Natalie Cone ncone@ywca.org if you are interested in attending or if you have questions about the summit. For more 2020 Census information, please join our 2020 Census Community on the YWCA intranet.
