WOMN-ETF
This week, we marked the one-year anniversary of Impact Shares YWCA Women’s Empowerment Exchange Traded Fund (ticker: WOMN).
Since its launch, the WOMN ETF has been recognized for its innovative approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investment. The WOMN ETF allows investors to deploy capital in companies whose business practices align with gender-equality standards.
“Partnering with Impact Shares to launch this first-of-its kind ETF has enabled us to expand and scale YWCA USA’s social impact investing work” said Alejandra Y. Castillo, CEO of YWCA USA. “We look forward to continuing to work with Impact Shares and YWCA Metropolitan Chicago to create awareness about this innovative product that provides investors the opportunity to generate both financial and social returns.”
“The WOMN ETF has proven to be a valuable tool for engagement with corporate partners and the investing public not only to discuss how the underlying criteria empowers women in the workplace but also how capital can be leveraged to create social impact” said Dorri McWhorter, CEO of YWCA Metropolitan Chicago.
The opportunity to partner with Impact Shares was identified by YWCA Metropolitan Chicago.
The As You Sow’s Gender Equality Funds search platform currently ranks the WOMN ETF in the 99th percentile of U.S. Equity Funds (3 out of 2,473). To date, the WOMN ETF has $6 million in assets.

YWCA USA Development Update YWCA USA is exploring a national funding opportunity to help strengthen the child care provider ecosystem by providing small business development services and increasing access to capital.
In order to assess the extent to which the YWCA national network is servicing child care providers we would like local associations to respond to a brief YWCA Network Survey.
Depending on responses, local associations may be eligible to participate in the partnership and receive grant funding. Please complete our survey by Friday, September 6, 2019. |

Supermajority Survey
Last week, our partners at the Supermajority Education Fund launched the Women's Poll.
The goal of this poll is to inspire activism, hold candidates and elected officials accountable, and provide a rallying cry for millions of women to engage and mobilize their friends, neighbors, and family to vote in 2020.
Please take a few minutes to answer questions about your life and your dreams for the future. The poll closes on September 8th. Please share this poll with your network of women. Women in every community in this country, representing every life experience, deserve to finally have their voices heard.
* We know that gender isn’t binary and that many people do not identify as women. For this particular poll, we are soliciting feedback from all people who identify as women |

YWCA Spotlight: YWCA Greater Newburyport
Congratulation to YWCA Greater Newburyport for hosting a fabulous ribbon cutting on Wednesday to officially open their 42-unit affordable housing facility in Salisbury, MA. This facility will serve homeless families as well as 16 families whose income is at or below 30% area median income. After over five years of hard work, tenants moved in to the building. Hats off to John Feehan, Executive Director YWCA Greater Newburyport and his entire team for providing families with safe housing. Click her for more details on their affordable housing program.
