YWCA Engages With Congressional Black Caucus Foundation
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation held its Annual Legislative Conference this week with the theme "400 years of our legacy, our history."
As part of this week’s activities, CEO Alejandra Castillo joined the Black Women’s Roundtable as a panelist. The forum, entitled “Power of Black Women Policy Forum”, was co-hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and ESSENCE. The panel centered on the role, power, and influence of Black women’s leadership in philanthropy, civic engagement, and political power building that centers a racial and gender justice agenda to bring about economic and social change in Black America.
Watch the video recap here. YWCA was pleased to also co-sponsor the Sojourner Truth Legacy Town Hall and the CBC Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner.
We commit ourselves to the work of justice. We know first-hand how much more work we must get up and do. |

Congratulations to YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee
SHIFT: An AMEND Together Conference was held in Nashville this week. This was the first ever national conference on violence against women and healthy masculinity. AMEND Together, a program developed by YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee, is dedicated to ending violence against women and girls by engaging men and boys to change the culture that supports violence.
15 YWCA Associations (pictured here) attended the conference. As Terry Crews shared at the AMEND Conference this week, "Everyone needs to understand, your value is immeasurable!"
Check out our video about how we get up and do the work of restoring dignity. This was shared during the AMEND Conference.
