SUBJECT: YWCA USA 2015 Our Collective Power Annual Conference

Dear YWCA Leaders,

In just a few short weeks, YWCA leaders from across the country will fill the streets of Washington D.C. at our 2015 YWCA USA Annual Conference! There is still time to register for the conference as we have extended the early bird registration rate until May 22. Register today!

We are excited to announce that YWCA USA will present Our Collective Power: A Persimmon Paper on the YWCA USA Mission to Eliminate Racism. A Persimmon Paper is a YWCA USA adaptation of what is more commonly referred to as an organizational “White Paper.” The publication of the paper on the elimination of racism is a direct response to findings of the YWCA 2011 comprehensive organizational assessment and in response to local associations citing racial justice as a high need area for capacity building. There will be a workshop offered at the annual conference to introduce the paper and major topics that the paper explores. During the session, hard copies of the paper will be distributed, an overview will be provided, and the use and application of the document will be discussed. Each attendee at the annual conference will receive a hard copy of the paper and an electronic copy will be available to the entire network after the conference.

We are also proud to share that our leading Annual Conference and Women of Distinction Gala sponsors are The Allstate Foundation and Northern Trust! Sponsors like this make our incredible event possible.

Finally, don’t miss our Capitol Hill Day webinar to help you get ready to advocate for our important legislative priorities on June 4th. The webinar is scheduled on Wednesday, May 20th at 3:00 ET, register today.

Our time together is vitally important. Each year we come away motivated and inspired to harness Our Collective Power in the service of our mission.

Sincerely,

Clare Gravon
