SUBJECT: Homepage Design Now Available
Dear YWCA Leaders,
Many have asked if we’ll be making YWCA USA’s new and exciting homepage available to local associations, and we’re happy to say that the time is here! Below are instructions for those local associations on Blackbaud Sphere, which is the same platform as the national office, as well as instructions for those on other content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal.
Instructions for Blackbaud Sphere Users
YWCA USA has taken on the time and expense of creating templates within Blackbaud Sphere that can be used to convert your existing homepage and headers/footers to our new design. This is a technical process that we do not recommend the layperson attempt to do. Rather, we advise that you provide these instructions to your preferred web developer, and you can download the files to complete this process here. If you don’t have a preferred web developer, the national office can provide a recommendation.
We’ll be holding a webinar next month for Sphere users to go over how to manage the new homepage. This webinar, scheduled for March 17, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. ET, is meant for the local association staff person who will be updating the website on a regular basis, and will be most informative if you have already had a web developer install the new templates. To register, sign up here.
Instructions for WordPress and Drupal Users
YWCA USA has also taken on the time and expense of having the front-end codebase created for the homepage, and that codebase can be used by any web developer to add our new look to a website using a CMS like WordPress or Drupal. To download the front-end codebase, click here.
Cost-Savings for Local Associations
Because of the front-end expenses that YWCA USA has taken on, we expect that the average cost to a local association to install the new homepage look will be the equivalent of only a few hours of web development time (though any desired or necessary customization may change that number). We’re pleased to provide this level of cost-savings to those who have indicated an interest in using our new homepage design.
We look forward to seeing your new homepages, and as always, reach out to us at communications@ywca.org with any questions!
Sincerely,
YWCA USA Communications
