SUBJECT: Coming Soon: Stand Against Racism 2016

Dear YWCA Leaders,

Stand Against Racism is right around the corner (April 28 – May 1) so we wanted to share some new information and quick reminders with you!

More than 100 YWCAs have registered for Stand Against Racism so far! If you have not registered for yet, please do so soon! April 11th is the last day you can purchase merchandise like tee-shirts and buttons to guarantee delivery before the campaign start date. Registration is free for you and your partners – we'd love to see every YWCA hold a stand!

All YWCAs are invited to join us via livestream on Thursday, April 28 – our National Day of Action – when we will host a policy briefing with a panel of experts. Returning for a second year is Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw of the African American Policy Forum. She will be joined by Rocío Inclan of the National Education Association, Dr. Danielle Moss Lee of YWCA City of New York, Sunil Mansukhani of The Raben Group, Lindsay Rosenthal of the Vera Institute for Justice, and moderator Malika Sadaa Saar of Google – as well as speakers from YWCA USA including our CEO Dara Richardson-Heron, M.D., and Catherine Beane, VP of Public Policy and Advocacy. We are very excited about this line-up and hope you will not only join us via livestream but tweet your questions and reactions throughout using #StandAgainstRacism and #OnAMission. We'll share the livestream link ahead of the event — stay tuned!

For those of you who have already registered for Stand Against Racism, don't forget to promote your event and the campaign on social media and to share the number of participants with us afterwards. Also, keep an eye out for some new tools in the coming weeks including sample social media posts, infographics, and talking points to help you educate and inspire throughout the campaign. Remember – you must register for Stand Against Racism to gain access to all of this great content!

If you have any questions, please contact us at standagainstracism@ywca.org.

Sincerely,

YWCA USA Communications
