SUBJECT: Updates: YWCA Advocacy Day

Dear Advocacy Day Participant,

We are so very excited that your local association has registered to participate in our first-ever, network-wide in-district YWCA Advocacy Day on August 17, 2016! Here's what you can expect as we head into our final month of preparation:

  • On August 3, you will receive an email from YWCA that confirms the particulars of your upcoming meeting: time, specific location, attendees (e.g., Member of Congress or senior staff), etc. Please continue to hold August 17 open to facilitate the scheduling of these meetings.
  • Our colleagues at Bracewell are actively scheduling meetings with your representatives and senators. They will reach out to you directly if they have any questions as they coordinate with your Member's in-district staff.
  • On August 3, we will host a webinar from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm ET. During this webinar, we will share recommended talking points and strategies for your in-district meetings. Please register for the webinar. If possible, all team members who will be attending your in-district meeting should plan to participate in this webinar.

In the meantime, please feel free to watch the June 8rd webinar, and download our advocacy tips, and fact sheets on the Healthy Families Act, the FAMILY Act, and the SAFE Act.

We could not be more excited about the interest across our YWCA network in this event! We have a tremendous opportunity to raise our collective voice and ratchet up the pressure on Congress to support bills that are so critical to women's economic empowerment.

Sincerely,

YWCA USA Advocacy
