SUBJECT: Updates: YWCA Advocacy Day

Dear Advocacy Day Participant,

The countdown is on to our first-ever, network-wide, in-district YWCA Advocacy Day on August 17, 2016!

Tuesday afternoon, you should have received an email notifying you of your scheduled meeting times and locations for August 17th.

  • If you did not receive this email, please check your spam filters and clutter boxes.
  • If you registered within the past week, you have not received an email because your meeting is still being scheduled. You will be contacted by Bracewell as your meetings are confirmed
  • If the email is still missing, then email advocacy@ywca.org to let us know and we'll resend the information!

Reminder: We are hosting a webinar today from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm EST. During this webinar, we will share recommended talking points and strategies for your in-district meetings, and answer questions. Please register for the webinar. If possible, all team members who will be attending your in-district meeting should plan to participate in this webinar.

Resource materials to aid your preparation for Advocacy Day are being updated and will be posted here. In addition to the advocacy tips and fact sheets that are already posted, we will also provide:

  • Talking points to guide your meetings on Advocacy Day
  • A new fact sheet about the importance of paid leave policies for women of color
  • An FAQ for answering tough questions
  • A social media guide for our Advocacy Day activities

We could not be more excited about the interest across our YWCA network in this event! We have a tremendous opportunity to raise our collective voice and encourage Congress to support bills that are so critical to women's economic advancement.

Sincerely,

YWCA USA Advocacy
