Dear YWCA Leaders,
Many of you have reached out to find out how your sister YWCA in Baton Rouge is faring amidst the very serious flood and weather conditions there. We greatly appreciate your concern and are sure that your colleagues in Baton Rouge do as well.
What we know so far is that Dianna Payton, the CEO, and Summer Steib, the board chair, are both safe. However, their Early Head Start facility has been impacted by the flood and will sustain considerable damage. Both this facility and their administrative offices (which were not impacted) are closed until further notice.
The YWCA USA team is working to support YWCA Greater Baton Rouge in any way we can. We will let you know if there are specific ways you also lend your support, but in the meantime, please review this article which highlights relief organizations working on the ground.
If you have any specific questions, please contact memberservices@ywca.org.
Sincerely,

Dara Richardson-Heron, M.D.
