SUBJECT: One Week To Go!

Dear YWCA Leaders,

We are just one week out from the start of Week Without Violence. Hopefully by now you’ve already started participating in Domestic Violence Awareness Month, are putting the final touches on your Week Without Violence events, and are getting your networks excited about the big week!

Here are some things you can do this week to prepare:

  • Get ready for advocacy!
    • Brush up on the two bills we are promoting during Week Without Violence: The Protecting Domestic Violence and Stalking Victims Act and the SAFE Act.
    • Print out the beautiful, bold postcards in your toolkit and have everyone who comes through your office or attends your events during Week Without Violence fill one out.
    • Start promoting the Week Without Violence action page from your social media accounts.
  • Help educate your network as a part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month with the following tools. Use #WorkAgainstViolence or link to the campaign site to connect this work to Week Without Violence.
  • Share relevant blog content from YWCAblog.com. We are featuring local association blogs and blogs from YWCA USA staff and partners from now until the end of October.
  • Get ready for our tweet chat on Thursday October 20 at 2 p.m. ET and promote the tweet chat to your network! We’ll be discussing the policies and programs that best support victims of gender-based violence. Use #WorkAgainstViolence to get involved.

Have questions? Email WeekWithoutViolence@ywca.org!

Sincerely,

YWCA USA Communications
