We are pleased to share the following YWCA USA updates.
National Conference News
We're less than a week away! We're looking forward to seeing everyone who is attending the 2017 YWCA USA National Conference next week. A quick reminder that while online registration is closed, on-site registration will be available.
Want to be a social media ambassador during the conference? This is a great opportunity to share key themes, takeaways, and content from the conference with a larger audience, and to help grow the conversation around our "Bold Mission, Bright Future"! Contact Tiffany Wang if you're interested or want to learn more.
Share your photos with us! Help us showcase our movement during the conference by submitting photos to be part of our slideshow. Email your best photos from the past two years to Danielle Marse-Kapr.
National Youth Serving Organizations for Child Protection
YWCA USA is happy to announce our participation in the newly formed National Youth Serving Organizations for Child Protection learning community, a group of national youth-serving organizations working and learning together to channel our resources and best thinking into preventing child sexual abuse within youth serving organizations, ending child sexual abuse in the world at large, starting with our own communities, and using trauma-informed care to respond to children who have already experienced sexual abuse. As the only women and girls-specific organization in this group, YWCA brings a unique and much needed intersectional perspective to the work of child safety. We are joined by national partners including: American Camp Association, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, JCC Association, Salvation Army in the USA, YMCA of the USA, and National Children's Alliance. For questions, please contact Alicia Gill.
World YWCA Young Women's Taskforce
As mentioned in last week's wrap-up, Heather Redman from YWCA Clark County in Washington state has been selected to serve on World YWCA's Young Women's Task Force/Global Advisory Council. This week we're pleased to announce that Heather will be joining us at our National Conference next week. You'll have a chance to hear more about YWCA USA's global work on Saturday morning of the conference
