Health Care Safe for Now
Congratulations YWCA advocates! Your voice made a difference! Through Capitol Hill Day meetings, phone calls and emails to your senators and representatives, hundreds of you stood with our clients, our communities, and our allies to preserve healthcare for millions. Please take a moment to thank the senators who stood firm this week for access to health care and read our celebratory statement here.
CEO Search Committee Update
The CEO Search Committee is working hard to identify a leader for YWCA USA who will best embody and provide leadership to our mission -- to eliminate racism and empower women. The committee is currently conducting its final round of interviews with exceptional candidates and is on pace to select a new leader in the upcoming weeks. The committee, mostly board members and a longtime YWCA leader, continue to be grateful to YWCA USA staff and membership for their constancy during this transition and the ongoing support of the committee's recruitment process. Please contact board@ywca.org with any comments and/or questions, and stay tuned for news in August!
Website Update
We are excited to announce that we have signed a new contract with Blackbaud to develop the next web solution for the YWCA network using their Luminate solution and WordPress Content Management System. This will replace the current software that YWCA USA and over 100 local associations currently use; that platform sunsets in the third quarter of FY2018. The vetting process included exploration of multiple vendors, involvement of local association leaders, and a third-party information technology firm. We will share more information in the coming weeks! Please contact Matt Preiss, IT manager, for more information.

The deadline to apply for the 2017 Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge is Tuesday August 1. Don't miss out! Apply here.
World YWCA Internships
The deadline for submitting application materials for World YWCA's one-year internship to YWCA USA for endorsement is Friday August, 4. To apply, contact Kelli Shewmaker. The deadline for the short- term internship is October 13. World YWCA will not consider your application without an endorsement from YWCA USA. Please see last week's Weekly Wrap-Up for more details.

Important Dates
- YWCA 101, an introductory webinar to the YWCA USA, will be offered on August 29, September 19, October 24, and November 28. Register your staff, volunteers and board.
- August 1: Purple Purse Challenge applications close.
- October 16 – 20: 2017 Week Without Violence
