Weekly Wrap-up is on a mission

October 13, 2017

We are pleased the share the following YWCA USA updates:

California Fires

We have been checking-in with the local associations impacted by the California fires. Diane Masseth-Jones, executive director of YWCA North Orange County (near Anaheim) tells us that the Southern California fire that began in the Anaheim hills has created damage and disruption, but is now abating. The fires are now 40% under control. Diane reports that the community is "getting back to normal." Tanis Crosby, CEO of YWCA Silicon Valley, indicates they have had a lot of smoke in South Bay – which was significant on Wednesday but seems to be improving. They have one staff member on evacuation alert. Please continue to keep these associations, and all who are impacted, front of mind in the coming days.

Policy Update and Recess Plan

Be sure to read the most recent policy update and get ready for in-district action using the new recess plan.
