This probably isn’t the first request for donations you’ve received today, and it won’t be the last. But I hope you’ll read on, because I want to tell you just a bit about what makes YWCA special and offer five simple ways you can help us achieve our bold mission this Giving Tuesday.
Across the country, the YWCA network helps 2.3 MILLION women, girls, and families each year. Our programs are wide-ranging. Depending on the needs of our communities we provide anything from emergency housing to youth programming – and everything in between. Our direct services are the backbone of who we are as a movement. But we don’t stop there. As one of the first organizations in the country to address both sexism and racism, we know that change isn’t easy – but it is possible. That’s why we also advocate and educate on issues like gender-based violence, racial justice, healthcare, and paid leave.
At YWCA, we are on a mission to eliminate racism and empower women. If you’re reading this, I’ll bet you’re on that mission too. Help us power our work in one of the following ways:
- Donate directly through our Facebook page all day today, on #GivingTuesday! Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have partnered to match up to $2 million in donations, so your impact can be even greater!
- Create a fundraiser for YWCA USA through Facebook in honor of #GivingTuesday. If you haven’t yet made one, it only takes a few clicks and doesn’t cost you anything!
- Holiday shopping season is here! If you’re shopping for gifts on Amazon, be sure to use AmazonSmile to have a portion of your purchase donated to YWCA USA – at no extra cost to you!
- Make a tax-deductible contribution through our website or by clicking the button below!
- Ask your friends to help as well. Use social media to share donation information or simply forward this email along to a friend who shares our values.
- We are thankful for your support, and we don't take it for granted. Make a contribution today and help us continue our critical work supporting women, girls, and families across the country!
