Weekly Wrap-up is on a mission

February 9, 2018

Dear Martha,

Please see the following YWCA USA updates:

YWCA Leaders on the Hill

This past Wednesday, February 7, YWCA USA was excited to host a congressional briefing, “Building a Safe, Economically Secure Future for Women and Girls,” featuring YWCA leaders from across the country, who talked about their critical services and programs. Following the briefing, we hosted a reception to officially welcome our CEO, Alejandra Y. Castillo, and celebrate 160 years of action and service for women, girls, and communities of color. Over the last three days, YWCA leaders, Alejandra, and YWCA USA staff also met with members of Congress, discussing our mission and urging policies and funding to directly support our work and the women and families we serve. See a recap and photos on our Facebook page and on Twitter with the hashtag #YWCA160.

Opportunity to Share: Prospect Research System

YWCA USA is embarking on a new subscription with iwave, a fundraising and development tool. As part of our subscription, we can offer local associations a discounted rate of $1,150. Our October 2017 Money Monday presentation focused on this program. You can review the webinar and slides on the intranet. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Lisa Frederick, development manager.
