The United State Of Women (USOW) Summit
We were excited to attend the second USOW summit in Los Angeles this past weekend as a community partner, with a delegation that included YWCA leaders and staff from across the country. It was a truly engaging experience!
- We had the opportunity to attend breakout sessions and panels on a number of issues, and hear from speakers such as Michelle Obama and Tarana Burke. You can watch the archived livestream online here.
- YWCA USA and YWCA Greater Los Angeles held a training on “No Gender Justice Without Racial Justice” at the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, led by field engagement manager Samantha Davis, who also was a panelist at a break-out session on mass incarceration.
- Our CEO Alejandra Y. Castillo gave remarks at an event with the Center for American Progress and Valerie Jarrett.
- We hosted a reception for YWCAs and people from partner organizations, where we had the privilege of having Dolores Huerta in our presence.
- Our team shared swag and information about YWCA and our movement at our table.
