We are pleased to provide the following updates:
Centene Pilot Site Training
Last week, YWCA USA hosted a two-day training for our four pilot sites of the Centene Adolescent Wellness Grant: YWCA Brooklyn, YWCA Northwest Louisiana, YWCA Northwest Ohio, and YWCA Watsonville. For the next 24 months these four sites will implement a newly created YWCA curriculum, Young Women Choosing Action. This curriculum is an intersectional, culturally responsive, trauma-informed leadership program designed with the unique challenges and opportunities of low-income young women and young women of color, ages 13 to 19, in mind. Through their participation in this program, young women will develop leadership skills, expand their understanding of their physical and emotional responses to trauma, cultivate a practice of personal well-being, and build their capacity as leaders. After the pilot, we will revise the YWCA curriculum in light of the program evaluation and make the new program available to all associations.
