We are pleased to provide the following updates:

Funding Opportunities

  • The National Women’s Law Center TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund announced a grant opportunity to fund outreach to ensure that marginalized communities know their rights regarding workplace sexual harassment and retaliation, receive non-legal assistance, and know how to contact the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund. Funding details and informational webinars are available. Applications are due on June 29.
  • The TJX Foundation announced funds to support programs that will provide children and families with basic provisions, including food, shelter, and physical fitness programs, to support those fleeing from domestic abuse, and to support education and training programs for at-risk children and youth. A letter of inquiry is required and due by November 16. Learn more.
  • Third Wave Fund’s Mobilize Power Fund is a rapid response fund for direct action, community mobilizing, and healing justice, and in support of the leadership of young women of color, trans, gender non-conforming, queer, and intersex youth under 35 in social movements. The next deadline is June 13, 2018, but there are a number of submission deadlines for winter/spring 2018. Learn more.

Calling all Board Members: Participate in a Groundbreaking National Study on the Leadership of Nonprofit Boards

The Alliance for Nonprofit Management, the national voice and catalyst for the field of capacity building, is looking for current nonprofit board chairs, other officers, and committee chairs to convey their experience by completing this 15-minute, easy to complete, anonymous survey. This research-based tool will help your boards prepare and select new leaders!

  • A free membership to BoardSource, experts in the field of board governance:
    • This benefit offers multiple resources for best practices in governance, including complimentary assessment, ask-an-expert e-mail service, monthly educational webinars on trending topics, downloadable templates, tools, infographics and hundreds of 101, 201, and 301-level topic papers. BoardSource also offers a peer-to-peer community called “the exchange” as a forum for discussions around governance issues.
    • A unique sign-up page has been created for YWCA’s entire network. Interested board members and staff can activate their BoardSource membership here. After you’ve set up a username and password, you will be able to view a page that describes the benefits that you now have access to.
  • A free membership to the Nonprofit Risk Management Center:
    • This benefit offers self-help tools and training on client safety, employment practices, governance and fraud prevention. They also provide advanced custom services at a discounted price.
    • To activate your free membership, go to the website, select the “Affiliate Login” in the upper right corner, select “Create Your Account,” and complete your profile. Activation may take up to 48 hours.
  • A discounted affiliate membership ($150) with Independent Sector, a national membership organization that brings together nonprofits, foundations, and corporations to advance the common good. Join via our affiliate link.
