Impact Shares YWCA Women’s Empowerment ETF

On Tuesday, YWCA USA and YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, with our partners Impact Shares and Equileap, hosted an event for stakeholders to learn more about the Impact Shares YWCA Women's Empowerment Exchange Traded Fund (WOMN ETF). We also joined a robust panel discussion on how to leverage capital to secure both social and financial returns, gathering over 60 participants to learn more about our social impact investment work and identify ways to engage corporations to empower women through private sector policies, investments and initiatives. We anticipate that local associations will receive more complete information by December 19 to assist your understanding and engagement of this effort.

Join us in Protecting Immigrant Women, Children, and Families

Join YWCA USA in calling for the complete withdrawal of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Agency’s (USCIS) proposed changes to the immigration regulation “Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds.” As an organization serving families, women, and children often in our most vulnerable communities, YWCA is concerned that the regulation changes in this proposed rule would cause major harm to immigrants, their families, and communities. We are particularly alarmed by the far-reaching effects of this proposed rule as it would restrict the ability of as many as 25.9 million individuals and families to access basic programs that safeguard their health care, nutrition, housing, and economic security. Please join YWCA USA in submitting public comments using our YWCA Template.

Giving Tuesday Updates

Giving Tuesday 2018 may be over, but we remain grateful for all you’ve given to advance our meaningful mission. 365 days a year, you compassionately partner with us to eliminate racism and empower women. We applaud your service and look forward to more impact, action and service in 2019. As part of our Giving Tuesday efforts, we partnered with the Washingtonian to spotlight the strength of our service delivery in local communities. Read more.

We loved seeing your great posts and messages on Giving Tuesday. Please also join us in celebrating some stand-out gifts to our YWCA sisters:

Opportunity for YWCAs to feature amazing kids in your community

A large television network is looking for rock star kids to feature on a new TV series about inspiring kids across America, and they’re asking YWCA to help identify amazing kids between the ages of 8-12 who are making a significant impact (big or small) in their communities. If you know of any such kids who you think should be featured, fill this brief survey. More information about this opportunity is available in this one-pager.
