Purpose
The CEO Advisory Council (CAC) will function as a strategic advisory body to YWCA USA’s CEO, offering counsel and insight into key network priorities and major initiatives. CAC will be instrumental in fostering collaborative leadership and shaping strategic direction through informed insight and consensus-building. The Council will work closely with the YWCA USA CEO and organizational leadership to impact the long-term success of the federation.
Council
The inaugural CEO Advisory Council will consist of 10 to 12 Chief Executive Officers or Executive Directors, selected to represent a diverse spectrum of experience and expertise across the Network. This composition aims to ensure a broad range of perspectives and skill sets, providing well-rounded, strategic counsel for the CEO. The Council’s work will be reviewed and may evolve over time to meet changing needs.
Required Background
· Chief Executive Officer or Executive Director of a member association for at least one year.
· Solid working knowledge of the YWCA organization, nonprofit, and business best practices.
· Understanding of mission-related political, corporate, and service trends (political landscape, best practices, regulations, etc.).
· Commitment of one year of service to CEO Advisory Council.
Candidate Profile
· Strong analytical, communication (listening and sharing), and negotiating skills.
· Demonstrate open-mindedness, active listening, and professional, constructive discussion.
· Commitment to discretion and maintaining confidentiality with the YWCA USA CEO and Council members.
· Consideration of the unique needs of local associations and the national office to achieve optimum results for the YWCA movement.
· Balances visionary thinking with pragmatic approaches to achieve the YWCA's mission and business goals.

· Notification of Selection by YWCA USA: No later than September 28, 2025
· First CEO Advisory Council Meeting: October 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET.
Scoring Rubric
Each response will be evaluated independently and anonymously by a panel of seven (7) reviewers, consisting of CEOs, National Board Members, and YWCA USA staff. Evaluators will assess each answer based on clarity, relevance, and the extent to which the applicant’s experience demonstrates the potential to positively and productively support the National CEO of YWCA USA.
