State Advocacy Update: Midwest Academy Organizing Training

When:  Jul 31, 2026 from 11:59 PM to 11:59 PM (ET)

We are excited to share that applications are open for the Midwest Academy Organizing Training as part of YWCA USA's state advocacy initiative.

From September 9 – 11, 2026, Midwest Academy will be hosting a 3-day (12 – 5 pm ET, virtual) training program focused on Midwest's distinct organizing framework, including how to analyze and shift power, strategic campaign development, outreach and engagement, and leadership development.  Participants will receive a certification in organizing techniques following the training.

Because the Midwest training model is highly interactive and relational, capacity is limited to 37 network leaders or advocacy adjacent staff We request that you select one representative per Local Association – that representative must be able to attend all three sessions. If you are in a state with multiple Local Associations and plan to or would like to plan for coordinated work to advance an issue or legislative campaign, we encourage you to coordinate and note that in your application.
