YWCA USA Bylaws
2022 Annual Business Meeting
Bylaws Amendment #3 and its proposed amendments will be considered at the next scheduled business meeting. Therefore, YWCA USA strongly believes it is prudent to hold the 2022 YWCA Annual Business Meeting in-person.
YWCA USA will continue to closely monitor the impact of COVID-19 across our communities in the coming months. Subject to change based on new information, Local Associations are asked to save Saturday, June 11, 2022 for a possible in-person Annual Business Meeting at a location yet to be determined.
Formal notice will be provided to Local Associations according to YWCA Bylaws.
2022 Special Business Meeting
A special Business Meeting was held virtually on January 19, 2022, for the purpose of considering the proposed amendments to the YWCA USA Bylaws contained in this Memorandum for Local Associations.
Bylaws Amendments #1-2 and #4-13 were adopted by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of Local Association voting delegates.
Local Associations, by unanimous consent, moved to continue the meeting at a later date. The continued meeting was later rescinded through written consent by a majority of Local Associations in order to provide time for greater understanding across the network.
2021 Proposed Bylaws Amendments
The YWCA USA Board of Directors (YWCA Board) approved amendments to the YWCA Bylaws in April 2021 on the recommendation of the YWCA Board Governance Committee. Any bylaws amendments must be approved by at least two-thirds (2/3) majority of Local Association voting delegates.
The proposed bylaws changes were provided to the network in May 2021 and discussed in roundtable meetings with Local Associations. Based on the feedback received, voting on the bylaws by the network was moved from June to early 2022.
