SUBJECT: Welcome to Collaborative Fundraising
Dear YWCA Leader,
YWCA USA is eager to partner with you to increase contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations at the national and local levels. Together, we will leverage relationships and yield larger results for the entire YWCA network.
To help identify future funding opportunities, we want to gain a better sense of general commonalities in programs and services within each of your YWCAs.
Currently, we are reviewing information from the 2015 local association profile surveys to better understand numbers served and program offerings. In addition, we have also created a short survey to gather information on collective programs and services under the YWCA USA mission impact framework.
We know you may have incorporated general racial justice and civil rights, empowerment and economic advancement, and health and safety tenets throughout your YWCA’s service curriculums. Therefore, for this survey, please provide information on programs, services, and initiatives that are specifically designed to address issues under the framework platforms (i.e. you probably wouldn’t include a one-day MLK day celebration that was held as part of afterschool programming. However, a series of discussions on civil rights leaders and their impact would be included).
Please complete this survey by Friday, September 23.
Once this process is complete, we will research and identify funding opportunities that are aligned with YWCA USA mission and your financial needs. We will be in contact with specific information related to future grant requirements.
Exciting Peer to Peer Fundraising Opportunity
If you are looking for a way to raise dollars for or around Week Without Violence, we are pleased to partner with Everyday Heroes to offer If Girls Ran the World, a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign. This October, thousands of women will participate in a virtual run around the world to benefit charities that empower girls globally. YWCA is an official charity partner and you can leverage your existing network by giving your supporters an engaging and fun way to fundraise for you.
As a participant in Collaborative Fundraising, you can register your local association for a reduced fee of $100. All the dollars raised through your network will benefit your local association.

Our first fundraising feature is GoodWorld, a tech startup fueling a generosity movement on social media by making it possible to give instantly to causes with just a hashtag: #donate. Launched in October 2014, GoodWorld blows open social media as a fundraising channel for nonprofits and allows social media users to directly contribute to the causes that they care about the most—turning engagement into impact. As the pioneer of hashtag donations, GoodWorld makes it possible for anyone to add a charitable component to their social network and turns giving into a fun, interactive experience.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the YWCA USA development team with questions or concerns. Kindly direct all inquiries to Alexander Wilson, development associate, at awilson@ywca.org.
Happy Fundraising!
