SUBJECT: CEO Search and Selection Process

Dear YWCA Leaders,

YWCA USA's Board of Directors is committed to transparency and ongoing communication with local YWCA association leaders to ensure all are apprised of actions and milestones associated with the search for a new executive to lead YWCA USA. We're also committed to working quickly without sacrificing the quality of our search, and hope to have a permanent CEO in place by September, 2017. To that end, we're pleased to share this update with you:

  • A formal search committee has been established, co-chaired by board member Sheila Carnicelli and long-time YWCA advocate Loyce Pierce Wright. Other members include YWCA USA Board Chair Sylvia Fields and board members Tina Herrera and Vicky Dinges.
  • Four search firms have been asked to submit proposals. One will be chosen to help surface extraordinary candidates and manage this nation-wide search process. We're currently evaluating each firm's capabilities to determine the right organization for our search and expect to announce our partner by the beginning of April.
  • Local YWCA association leader feedback -- regarding CEO priorities, skills and characteristics collected during the five geo-networking meetings -- is much appreciated and will be shared with the search firm.

We extend our gratitude to Casey Harden for serving as our interim CEO and look forward to the membership's continued support during this time of transition. For any questions or comments on the process, please feel free to contact us at ceo1@ywca.org.
