DATE: May 4, 2017
SUBJECT: 2017 Annual Business Meeting
Dear YWCA Leaders,
The 2017 Annual Business Meeting of the members of YWCA USA will be held on June 17, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT at the Capital Hilton, 1001 16th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036. The annual business meeting package can be viewed by clicking here.
During the 2017 Annual Business Meeting, YWCA local associations will:
- Elect members for the board of directors of YWCA USA;
- Vote on YWCA USA Bylaws Amendments;
- Be presented with the annual report of the board of directors of YWCA USA;
- Conduct any other business that may properly come before the meeting.
This year, as in past years, voting for the meeting will be conducted online, using a system administered by the independent online voting firm Votenet. The Notice of Voting Delegates form gives each designated voting delegate the authority to cast an electronic ballot for the local association on all voting matters and gives the national office the information it needs to provide unique voting passwords and IDs to each voting delegate.
Accordingly, all local associations must complete the Notice of Voting Delegates form by Thursday, May 18, 2017. The Notice of Voting Delegates form must be completed by the local association executive director, CEO, or board chair. Voting information will not be sent to the office of the local association. As such, local association leadership must be proactive to make sure that their voting delegates have received the necessary voting information.
Whether or not you plan to attend the 2017 Annual Business Meeting, it is important that you complete the online Local Association Proxy Authorization form and Notice of Voting Delegate form no later than Thursday, May 18, 2017, to ensure that a quorum is present to conduct the business of YWCA.
Thank you kindly for all that you do and thanks also for taking the time to complete the documentation required for us to successfully conduct our 2017 YWCA Annual Business Meeting.
Please feel free to send any questions to secretary@ywca.org.
Sincerely,
Casey Harden, Interim CEO
