TO: YWCA Local Association Leaders
FROM: Dara Richardson-Heron, M.D., CEO
DATE: April 25, 2016
SUBJECT: 2016 Annual Business Meeting Package
Dear YWCA Leaders,
The 2016 Annual Business Meeting of the members of YWCA USA will be held on June 11, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EDT at the Westin Georgetown, 2350 M Street NW, Washington, DC 20037. The annual business meeting package can be accessed here.
During the 2016 Annual Business Meeting, YWCA local associations will:
- Elect members for the board of directors of YWCA USA;
- Be presented with the annual report of the board of directors of YWCA USA;
- Conduct any other business that may properly come before the meeting.
As a reminder, there will be no National Conference this year. If you are unable to attend the 2016 Annual Business Meeting at the Westin Georgetown in-person, the meeting will also be available via live stream on June 11, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT. No later than one week before the meeting, a link with instructions on how to access the meeting via live stream will be sent to all local associations. If you plan on attending the 2016 Annual Business Meeting at the Westin Georgetown, please use this RSVP form to indicate your attendance.
This year, as in past years, voting for the meeting will be conducted online, using a system administered by the independent online voting firm Votenet. The Notice of Voting Delegates form gives each designated voting delegate the authority to cast an electronic ballot for the local association on all voting matters and gives the national office the information it needs to provide unique voting passwords and IDs to each voting delegate.
Accordingly, all local associations must complete the Notice of Voting Delegates form by Friday, May 13, 2016. The Notice of Voting Delegates form must be completed by the local association executive director, CEO, or board chair. Voting information will not be sent to the office of the local association. As such, local association leadership must be proactive to make sure that their voting delegates have received the necessary voting information.
Whether or not you plan to attend the 2016 Annual Business Meeting, it is important that you complete the online Local Association Proxy Authorization form and Notice of Voting Delegate form no later than Friday, May 13, 2016, to ensure that a quorum is present to conduct the business of YWCA.
Thank you kindly for all that you do and thanks also for taking the time to complete the documentation required for us to successfully conduct our 2016 YWCA Annual Business Meeting.
Please feel free to send any questions to secretary@ywca.org or contact Elisha Rhodes by dialing 202-467-0801.
Sincerely,

Dara Richardson-Heron, M.D.
