SUBJECT: 2017 YWCA National Metrics and Impact Reporting Process

Dear YWCA Leaders,

We are pleased to announce the start of the 2017 national metrics and impact reporting process! The purpose of this important process is to collect data about YWCA demographics, programs, funding, and outcomes. Submitting this report is part of YWCAs’ mutual membership agreement. The deadline to submit your completed report is March 24.

This memo includes:

  • General information about the report and time period covered
  • How collected data is used
  • Reporting process schedule
  • ‘How To’ webinar registration links and other resources
  • Contact information for assistance

First, we are happy to share that the reporting process has been simplified, with less data to enter.

The time period to be covered coincides with a local association’s fiscal year that ends during 2016, or, the most recent 12 month period for which requested data is available.

The information you provide in this report creates a picture of our national movement and achievements. Since the last time national metrics were gathered in 2015, there have been requests for more than 200 individual data reports. For local associations as well as the YWCA USA office, these reports support funding requests, strengthen service delivery and inform planning efforts.

To help you plan for this process, here is the planned timeline and suggested action steps.

Phase I: Preparation

Organize the 2017 data collection process for your YWCA. Data collection can begin using the sample report form as a guide.

Register for the January 23rd webinar providing further details about which data should be entered in which section of the report.

Register for the February 14th webinar covering how to access and enter data on the online report form.

Note that both webinars will be posted for viewing on demand, and that there will be follow-up Q & A sessions held January 26th and February 21st for those unable to attend the first airings and/or who need additional information.

Contact your association’s director of member services or nationalimpactreport@ywca.org with questions. Help desks will be open throughout the reporting process.

Sections 3 and 4 call for details related to the major programs marked in Section 2. Each YWCA needs only to access and complete the parts of Section 3 and 4 that pertain to their particular service areas. Once gathered, all data needs to be entered on the online form. The sample metrics and impact report form lists all the questions that will appear on the online report form.
