My commitment to addressing poverty, inequality, and violence against women and children is the driving force behind my work. Growing up in rural poverty and having a mother who is similar to many YWCA clients and relies on SNAP, Medicaid, and Social Security, I bring a unique expertise in budget, tax, and appropriations policy. I am also a dedicated animal lover who strongly believes in a big-tent approach to social justice and advocacy work.
